Working Principle Description:
The working principle of a VPS (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generator is as follows:
Compressed Air Intake: Ambient air is drawn in and compressed using a compressor to increase the concentration and pressure of oxygen.
Adsorption Tower Cycle: The compressed air is directed into a system of multiple adsorption towers. Each tower is filled with specialized adsorbents such as molecular sieves or activated carbon.
Adsorption Phase: During this phase, the adsorbents selectively adsorb nitrogen molecules from the compressed air, allowing oxygen-enriched gas to pass through.
Pressure Drop Desorption: When the adsorption capacity of the adsorbents reaches its limit, a pressure drop desorption process is initiated. The pressure in the adsorption towers is reduced, causing the adsorbents to release the adsorbed nitrogen molecules and regain their adsorption capacity.
Oxygen Production: The released nitrogen gas is expelled through the exhaust system, while the oxygen-enriched gas is collected as the desired product.
Tower Switching: When one adsorption tower becomes saturated, a tower switching operation is performed. The direction of the incoming compressed air is switched to another tower, allowing continuous oxygen production while the saturated tower undergoes regeneration.
Through the cyclic variation of pressure and the adsorption-desorption processes described above, a VPS oxygen generator effectively separates nitrogen and other impurities from the air, resulting in a high-purity oxygen output.
